It looks like Spam Karma caught one false positive comment amongst all the normal spam. Here’s the comment by Tieneus, which was originally made in reply to this post:
Yes an artist has to be capable. The beeb (BBC) has some interesting articles on camera obscura used in paintings research (17th century Vermeer) http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/society_culture/art/vermeer_camera_01.shtml and even the (probably) first mention of camera obscura (around 1021) http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/historic_figures/alhazen.shtml.
Also i remember a documentary where certain parts of a person or scene where very oddly pictured, like the projection was under an angle just to let it fit the frame but resulted in strange proportions.
