So, Wednesday night, we got Kristin an iPhone, because she had an old Razr that was near death and she needed a new phone and wanted one that did email. Also, her old iPod nano has started to show the first signs of being dropped far too many times, skipping songs and just generally acting weird. So since the iPhone is a Phone + an iPod nano, it was a no-brainer.
We arrived home that night and I activated and set up the iPhone for her and she seemed largely disinterested, although she did tinker with the settings a bit before bed, changing the ringtone and adding a passcode lock for it, etc.
Fast forward to yesterday afternoon: Kristin calls me at work: “The iPhone just saved my life today. I was totally lost and couldn’t find the dance studio, and I pulled out the iPhone and quickly got directions via the Google Maps on it. Oh, and by the way, you can use it to make phone calls too! I’m using the headphones… Can you hear me okay?”
