About C.K. Sample III aka cksample aka cksamplenoodling
I’ve played guitar since I was 11 years old growing up in Jackson, Mississippi. I played in a group of power chord hair bands back in college, but sort of fell away from music creation for a while.
Professionally, I have been working in technology for over 15 years, where I began as one of the first professionally paid bloggers back in the early 2000s. Now, I build teams that build great software solutions leveraging emerging technologies.
I’ve lived in London, Germany, Illinois, New York (the Bronx), Santa Monica, Austin, where I started a jam band with some friends, and now in Dallas, Texas, where I started my journey into playing Eurorack synthesizers.
In 2021, I co-founded Club Eurorack with my friend Stujay and also launched the Modules Discord, where we’re trying to have a room dedicated to every module that anyone wants to discuss.
The vast majority of my music is performed live on my Eurorack synthesizer, which I affectionately call the Mothership. I tend to play mostly four on the floor techno style music, but I have a sound that is more like what you would expect from someone who came up playing grungy distorted guitars and scream-singing on stage (I think. You tell me.)
I also studied Fine Art in undergrad and have been a life-long artist, mostly drawing, painting and sculpting, but more recently, digital art as well. Some of my art is available here.
