Check out this article from Boing Boing: TiVo alternatives you can own (not the other way around). Some of these look pretty cool. I wouldn’t mind grabbing one as my second media box. However, my ReplayTV works very nicely and doesn’t have any of TiVo’s dumbness built-in.
