So, while we were away on our honeymoon, we had our bathroom entirely retiled and sealed water tight, as we were leaking (again) on the downstairs neighbors, and the plumber whom the co-op brought in to look at the situation claimed that the tiling was the issue. We came home to a very beautifully redone bathroom with which we were both very pleased, at least until the next morning, when we found out that we were still leaking on the downstairs neighbors. Well, last night, we ran a few experiments and the super confirmed them again today. It looks like the drainage pipe that we had entirely replaced less than a year ago is what is causing the leak, so our bathroom floor has to be ripped up, pipe has to be replaced, and then all that beautiful tile has to be replaced. All of this, thankfully, as it is an issue inside the walls, falls under the co-op’s jurisdiction and becomes their expense, and if I have anything to say about it, they’re going to reimburse me for all the work we had done to the bathroom per the plumber’s incorrect assessment of the problem.
