Today is the last day of the class I am teaching this semester (which means it is the last day I will have to get up this early for about a month. Nice). I’m a little antsy, as I want my students to do well and their final projects are due today (although they have an in-class extra-credit final Wednesday afternoon).
A few things caught my eye this morning in the pre-coffee haze:

There’s a new blog-ranking system out there to remind me of my obscurity: sampletheweb.com today: 1150820 yesterday: 1138736. My question is: why are there so many of these? This one is interesting because it tracks according to the freshness of links to the site, but how does this measure my blog’s worth? It doesn’t. It doesn’t account for the nice emails I’ve received in the past week from other bloggers. That’s the value of blogging: Not the ranking, but the connections made.
Also, Wired picked-up that home-brew iPod ad that has been flying about as of late. It’s cool, but the words iPod and mini are oddly-spaced near the end of the ad.
