We just returned from Mississippi, where we spent Thanksgiving with my parents. It was good to see them and to spend time with them and my brother, but the transportation involved was less than ideal. I do not feel like I received my money’s worth. We had delays on the return, mechanical and weather related, and our luggage is still M.I.A. The bad part of this is that we did all of our Christmas shopping while in Mississippi, as Black Friday was like a regular New York shopping day in Jackson, and nearly all of Christmas is packed in that missing bag. Ugh…
While we were on the plane, and the attendants were delivering us drinks, wheeling a little cart down the aisle, bumping people’s crowded elbows, I really started contemplating current airline practices. It just seems so outdated and geared toward an outdated lifestyle. They need to rethink the entire thing. More room for comfortable seats. Less in-flight “service” that doesn’t really do anything for you. Pretzels and a drink? Couldn’t that be included under your seat or something and make larger seats that are spread out. Get rid of the aisles and enter from the side of the plane. Have multiple entrances. Something different than our current creaking machine airbus.
There was no internet connection at my parents’ house, so I’ve been disconnected. I convinced my father to order cable and it should be installed later today.
