I’m still working on a detailed review of the 12″
Powerbook, which should be up sometime today or tomorrow, but I
thought that I would share the bit of news: I already have a new 12″.
The other one had a slight wobble to it. Seems to be a production issue
considering how many people I’ve hear post about this over at Yahoo
Groups’ 12″ Powerbook group. Warping of the case seems to be an every
other sort of symptom on these machines. In any case, I took mine back
to the Apple Store in White Plains, NY, yesterday, and swapped it out for
a new one. I almost didn’t bother because I was so pleased with the
machine overall that the wobbling thing seemed almost picky. I’m
glad I did bother, though, because this new one feels much more
solid and sturdy, the screen lid closes closer to the body and the
battery fits solidly in place. And, I received a $100 rebate due
to the recent drop in the educational price for the machines. Not
too shabby…
