Finally saw the Matrix: Reloaded this weekend. I think I
enjoyed it more than I thought I was going to. Several of the reviews
online that I’d read about it, made me think it would be all action and no
substance. I think that most of the people who faulted it as such
mistook a more reality-based examination of the Matrix (in contrast
to
Morpheus’s metaphysical and mystical ramblings) on the basis of the
way computers, systems, and programs work, for a lack of substance.
The substance is there, and the ending of the movie points to
something new, a new mysticism/metaphysics, that, I think, will
thoroughly outshine Morpheus’s mythology and make the concluding movie
in the trilogy the deepest of them all. I really liked it. Go see it
now. And read
this
too.
