New Year’s Eve Eve, I went to Vegas with my friends Honey & Trovarsi to see Anyma’s residency at The Sphere. What I experienced was amazing. Even in the opening sets, Parisi and Rampa, the visuals were overpowering and immersive.

Parisi’s set started with a sort of flowering in the sky effect that was very pretty and cool. It then transitioned to a section where it looked like we were inside Jupiter, followed by other sort of beautiful sky animations.

Rampa’s set started off cool music but not many visuals beyond his anarchy peace sign in cloud form just floating there. But, then… a little bit later, it suddenly became sunrise and then daylight in the desert… at a rave… in the middle of the night. It was so bright and so real.

Once Anyma came on, things became fully cinematic and immersive. None of the videos you see online, including the ones I’m posting here can properly represent how crazy real it was to be dancing on the dance floor and have a large giant robot look down at you and interact with the dome above you. Also, in several segments of the performance, when the visuals were moving past the horizon point, because it was all-encompassing your vision and looked so real, you felt like the actual ground was moving. It’s absolutely insane to experience.

If you can afford to go to Vegas and see this, do it. It’s great. Since being there I’ve been thinking how cool it would be to have a mini-Sphere as your home. Just set the sky to whatever you want it to be, regardless of the time of day or night. It was like being inside a large holodeck.
